EV Range Calculator

Estimate how far your electric car can drive on a full battery — or at any state of charge — based on its real-world efficiency.

Range = battery × state of charge × efficiency. A 75 kWh pack at 4 mi/kWh gives 300 miles at 100%, 240 miles at 80%.

Range questions

How accurate are EV range estimates?
EPA figures assume mixed driving in mild conditions. Expect 10–25% less on highways above 65 mph and in cold weather, more in extreme cold with heavy heating.
Should I use battery capacity or usable capacity?
Manufacturers quote total battery capacity; a small reserve is hidden from the driver for protection. Using the quoted capacity is a reasonable, slightly optimistic estimate.
What is a good mi/kWh figure?
Efficient sedans like the Tesla Model 3 reach 4.5–5 mi/kWh; large SUVs and trucks run 2.5–3.5 mi/kWh. Anything above 3.5 is efficient for a modern EV.
